- You hear through the grapevine that bad weather is predicted.
- You immediately start getting your hopes up and planning as if the Snow Day is seriously happening.
- You check the weather every 5 minutes to assure the snow is still coming.
- You start participating in all of the Snow Day rituals, especially if you’re a teacher or a senior in high school. (Snow Dance, flushing an ice cube down the toilet, putting an orange in the freezer, wearing your pajamas inside out, brushing your teeth with the opposite hand, putting a spoon under your pillow while you sleep)
- You stay close to the TV and phone to see your school posted in the listing, and you have the phone sitting next to you, waiting for your Superintendent to call. You just have to find out as soon as possible, so you're able to have a peace of mind.
- You stay up late because you don’t want responsibilities tomorrow. (You’re really banking on that beloved call at this point.)
- At last, you get to your day of rest, and fill it with lots of hot chocolate and fun!!! However, there is always that one school that still has to attend, so hope for the best that it isn’t you!
Happy Snow Day season, y'all!!
