Have you ever wondered how you play the clarinet? There are multiple steps to be able to play the clarinet. The steps include putting the clarinet together, setting your embouchure, and actually playing the instrument.
First, putting the instrument together. The first step to putting the instrument together is opening the case. Take out the body and put the two pieces together. The body consists of the two longest parts of the horn that has keys.
Next, put the bell on the bottom of the horn. The bell is the curved part of the horn where all the sound comes out. Take out the barrel and place it on top of the body.
Then take out the mouthpiece, and put it on the top of the barrel. The mouthpiece includes several pieces, but the first part is the one that is actually stuck on the horn.
Next, soak the reed till it is not dry anymore. The reed is made of bamboo that is used to make the sound of the clarinet. Finally, put the reed on then add the ligature.
The ligature is used to hold the reed in place on the mouthpiece of the clarinet. The ligature is something you can loosen or tighten.
Next, setting the embouchure. Setting the embouchure is the hardest part of playing the clarinet or any instrument that has a mouthpiece.
The first step is to hold the clarinet mouthpiece to the mouth. Then, put it in the mouth to position it correctly. Roll the bottom lip under just a bit.
Then, gently press the top teeth to the top of the mouthpiece. Yes, it will feel weird at first, but it gets easier over time.
Then, take the sides of the mouth and look angry. Squeezing the mouthpiece with the corner of the mouth can determine whether the horn will be flat or sharp.
A flat means that a note is lower than the pitch is supposed to be. Being sharp means for a note to be higher in pitch then it is supposed to be. To make a pitch be in tune lower the jaw if it is sharp, and tighten the embouchure if it is sharp.
