Everyday we face the daily struggle of baggage. We are constantly living our lives to please others and in return, we pick up the messes and problems of other people along with our own. Isn't all of this a burden? Don't you just want to give up and let it all go? The stress can all go away if you would just give it up and let God be who he is, God. Many people believe that giving up your life for Christ means you are surrendering yourself to the do's and don'ts of the world but that's not the case because when God says in Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!", He speaks of the peace He can give you. The peace to give all your control to him and remain without worry of the things you can't control because He rules the earth, His good creation. We can't control whether or not we get the job, we can't control whether or not someone will like us, we can't control how God made us but we can choose to accept those things we can't control and let God handle it.

You and I, both, don't know the struggle you might face next week but God does and he wants you to take the first step in trusting Him by letting go and knowing He is in complete control of your life. This is key to having total peace over you and comfort in knowing that everything will be okay.

Your past is over and forgiven by God and your future is unknown by you and known by God. You don't need to be in battle with God over the control of things that can't be changed. The more you try and grasp on to it, the more you get tired and want to give up or work harder to get your way. Both are foolish reactions and God asks that you surrender.

God is there waiting for you to let go so His light can come in and work through you as you let go of those difficult situations. Let God lift your thoughts, reject your fears and remove all your unbelief. Take a deep breath, release with ease and quietly let God in. Give Him all the control and give up the things in your life that are out of your hands. God will always provide for you the knowledge, faith, understanding, healing and all other needs. Just let go and let God.

In every circumstance, God's work is there. As you begin to let go and trust that God will provide your needs, everything will be transformed and your life will bear many blessings. God continues to make dark places bursting with light, rough edges smooth and emptiness into fullness.

Let God begin today, let Him enter your life and begin a healing process for the control in your life. Give it all to him and let Him transform you. God is ready to begin His work and do the things you can't do alone.

"God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
