Stepparents are a common fixture of families today, and mine is no exception. And, no, my stepmom is nothing like Cinderella's. That movie just gives them a bad rep, as does the original story. But it's important to honor those who have loved you as if you were their own. So, Ginger, this one is for you.
I know I mention family a fair amount in my articles, but I don't feel like I say thank you enough. Or, well, come out of my 'tower' tons. Yeah, I'm pretty sure my dad knows I heard that one. Not that he was wrong...
But thank you for being there, even before you two dated. As a church, Deep Creek has always been full of kind, giving, and selfless people, and you have always been one of them.
And then when you two started dating, it was always fun to be over at your place and eat, then play with the boys while y'all passed out on the couch. And you always went above and beyond, regardless of what was going on.
You still do this, and I'm grateful to have you in my life, as well as the boys. You have done what some don't for do their own kids, never mind someone else's. And I couldn't be happier that my father married you.
I could say more, but I'm pretty sure we aren't the only people who sit and watch crime shows all afternoon. I can even admit that 'criminal minds' is a little too realistic sometimes.
So, thank you, because I couldn't imagine my life without you and the boys.
