When I was a little girl my mom had music playing in our house constantly, and one of the names I grew up hearing a lot was Stevie Nicks. As the years wore on, Stevie Nicks became the most consistent voice you could hear coming from my own CD player. With a career spanning four decades, both as a solo artist and as a member of the award-winning group, Fleetwood Mac, it’s pretty clear that she has some serious staying power. If you haven’t given her much thought before, might I suggest giving her a chance? I promise you won’t be disappointed. To honor her, everything she has meant to the music industry and her fans over the past forty years, I wrote this unique poem about her life using the titles to some of my favorite songs of hers. See if you can find them all. There are thirty-five of them altogether! If you find all of them, comment below! Happy hunting!!
If you ever did believe,
Come on, baby say you will,
Rock a little with me.
From Arizona to the silver springs,
Talk to me and tell me your dreams.
Grew up a desert angel,
At the edge of seventeen, Mama’s sweet girl,
Became a gypsy and then a street angel.
Everyday I’m learning that nothing ever changes,
And that love’s a hard game to play.
I am a beauty,
But on the other side of the mirror,
I see the beast.
Crystal visions of the seven wonders enchanted me,
But outside the rain, lay a whole lotta trouble.
I found a little trouble in my Shangri-La,
I miss you, but not my fall from grace.
The planets of the universe spin around,
Causing this chain of events.
In the midst of it all I will run to you,
No questions asked.
Twisted emotions asking why not leave the Hollywood gold dust woman behind,
I saw the truth in the landslide,
And discovered I am still me after the glitter fades.
Don’t think about it,
Just blame it on my wild heart.
