Step aside Halloween and make room for the Christmas trees...

That's right the best candy on the shelf (besides Valentines day) is on sale now and we are less than 60 days away from the birthday of Jesus! If that doesn't make you excited than I don't know what will! It's time for Santa Claus to come to town and he is definitely going to find out if you were naughty or nice... especially after you just spent the last month stuffing your face with candy, Pumpkin Spice lattes, eating those sugar cookies with pumpkins on them, dressing up every night in a different costume for Halloweek, and watching all of the scary movies you could think of. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to forget about Thanksgiving, but on November 1st every Christmas Cd, decoration, song, movie, etc. will become #relevant to me until at least the time the ball drops in Times Square. Streets become brighter, the leaves begin to fall, you get snow if you're lucky(who am I kidding a White Christmas in South Carolina...HAHA), presents, choirs singing, love is filling peoples hearts and souls, bells ringing, everyone is 1000x happier, and you even get a break from college! In the words of Justin Bieber, "I want to thank not only God, but Jesus." So put on your dancing shoes and put away your Halloween costumes because we are about to listen to Jingle Bell Rock and every other hit song for at least 4,572 times in the next month.

See you next year Halloween, but until then.."WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.

We all have a love hate relationship with winter, lets be real here. The snow makes people forget how to drive, its cold, the roads are bad, and chances are, you will be spending a lot more money than you do during the other months of the year. If you’re from the Midwest, it seems to be that winter lasts for what feels like forever. But despite the struggles that winter brings, there are so many things to love about it.
