BCC Two and Netflix have given us yet another great crime show that puts the audiences on the edge of their seat. "The Fall", which aired its first series in 2013, is a thriller set in Belfast, Northern Ireland that takes one on a thrilling case of a serial killer (Paul Spector) that preys on women and a Detective Superintendent (Stella Gibson) trying to catch him. The stars of the show are very noteworthy as well, using "Fifty Shades" star, Jamie Dorman and from "The X-Files", Gillian Anderson.
I'm here to talk about the female lead, DSI Stella Gibson, played by Anderson.
In a patriarchal world, Stella does not let the male species try to bring her down. She wants to represent all the women who have had the unfortunate experience of being victims to Mr. Spector's crimes. She has said some noteworthy quotes that need to be more looked upon because this kind of female representation on television is what makes audiences appreciate a strong female lead.
