It is easy to see the bad things happening around the world. From turning on the TV to seeing threats and chaos occurring around the world, having to choose between these two pathetic candidates to be the next president, to discovering that the Great Barrier Reef is now non-existent, it leaves us feeling stressed and thinking that this world is simply doomed. Even situations that are painful in our own personal lives leave us feeling that there is no hope. Through the perspective of a millennial, as the generation who is waking up and discovering what is really happening around the world outside of our own lives, all of these situations seem terrifying and leaves us feeling helpless to the chaos.

It is time for us to put a stop to these fears and instead of thinking of the evil that is occurring in our world, think about all the great and beautiful things that do exist. As we are approaching Thanksgiving, we can take this moment to be thankful for what and who we have in our lives. Take a moment to think about all the great people in our life who love and support us unconditionally. You would not be the same person that you are today without these amazing people. Appreciate the amazing opportunities that you are given. To being able to have the chance to travel to new places, the promotions or job offerings that you are given, or having the chance to meet certain people who have left a huge impact on your life for the better. Think about the accomplishments that you have made. To graduating from college, receiving any awards or honors, to simply accomplishing any long term goals, you need to have the opportunity to reflect and be satisfied with all that you have accomplished so far.

When seeing all the hate and strange things happening around the world, it is important that all of us are aware of what is happening. We can't ignore the things that are happening and we must be prepared at all times in any way that we can. We can take action and help in any way we can in many ways. Whether it is simple things by helping out a neighbor or contributing to your community by volunteering, you can make a difference in anyone's life no matter how small the action. It is important that we choose to spread love instead of hate. By contributing to make our world a better place or simply spreading love around us, it is then when we can really see the light through the darkness. Having faith can also help you to be a stronger person and know that you can always turn to your spiritual side. Whenever you are feeling hopeless in the world or in your own life, know that you can always turn it around by appreciating the beautiful things and people in your life and take action to spread this happiness in order to not live your life in fear.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
