Finally, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Summer is so close, and the only thing standing between you and your summer bucket list is finals week. Final exams and projects pour on the stress, but, luckily, there are easy ways to combat stress and actually enjoy these last weeks of the semester.
1. Don't count down the days, make the days count
The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer and, even though stress levels are through the roof, there is still time for fun. Try to make time every day for at least one activity that doesn't involve schoolwork or studying. You'll be amazed at how much more bearable things will seem.
2. Prioritize sleep
When work piles up, it is easy to put sleep on the backburner. However, you can get seven to eight hours of sleep and still get everything done. This will help you avoid being the sleep-deprived zombie in the Starbucks line who snaps at the barista. Trust me, no one wants to be that person.
3. Don't procrastinate
Time management is one of the most valuable skills during this hurdle. Get things done as soon as you can and avoid the "I'll work on that tomorrow" mentality.
4. Go to the gym
As with sleep, it's easy to neglect the gym right now. The truth is that getting up and going to the gym can actually reduce stress and help you think clearer. Need another reason to go to the gym? Two words: bikini season.
5. Call your parents
Who is better to remind you that this isn't the end of the world? Parents usually give the best advice; be smart and take it. Also, remember to tell them that you love them.
6. Go to class
Right now, it's oh so tempting to skip class to work on other assignments. Resist the temptation and remember that this will only backfire. You'll thank yourself that you made it to your classes come finals week.
7. Don't crash under the pressure
Resist the urge to hide from your responsibilities and get your work done. Try your hardest and finish the semester strong; you got this!
