Staying In Your Own Lane

Witnessing friends or family members sometimes make us feel substandard.

We then sit around and mourn over our less fortunate lives without even thinking about how blessed we really are. The predominance of social media is to hold responsible for because it has us all thinking we are not good enough based off pictures or posts that we know nothing about. Everyone anticipates only positivity on social media. Everyone wants to seem like they are living the best and most happy life, but we do not know the tale behind their social media accounts. This feeling appears to be ever following today. I would like to share with you how to surmount those notions of subservience and realize why it's essential to only worry about yourself.

Reduce Your Time on Social Media.

Social media is an essential component of most people's lives. Some individuals have even jump-started professions and obtained fame from it. Furthermore, others have also completed suicide and become discouraged as a result of computer screen fascination. Cutting down social media usage is paramount in improving self-admiration and concluding self-assessment. Searching through social media sites is the simplest way to evaluate yourself to others and get off the path of what you are doing. Limiting your time behind the screen will be a great assistance. Keep in mind that social media is all about insight and people post their best selves, so don't be fooled or feel bad when somebody appears to be living the ideal life. They may be going through things that you know nothing about and use social media to conceal their pain.

Count Your Blessings & Understand How Great Life is For You.

Looking at everyone else's blessings can make us overlook our own. We are so busy trying to put together the fragments for other individuals' lives, but we are lost in our own conundrum. We forget how blessed we are when it comes to evaluating ourselves to others. One of your friends may just have acquired a new job with a considerable salary and now you feel subservient to your friend. But you just also got a new car and totally disregarded this blessing. Unfortunately, this is an enthusiastically grueling cycle that many people experience. Whenever you correct your methods of comparing yourself to someone else, just look around and consider how far you came. In addition, you must acknowledge how life is great for you.

Invest in Your Desires & Interests.

Specifically, we compare ourselves to others so we can "size up" to that individual. Doing this will cause us to fall short because there is only one you, which is rare, and you should accept that. Consequently, investing in yourself is very essential. Enhancing your skills will make you better individually and will increase your self-esteem. For instance, if you are enthusiastic about singing, you will practice and possibly get vocal lessons so you can be better and feel good about yourself. If you invest more in your desires and interests, the less you worry about what someone else is doing. Therefore, other people's progress won't even cross your mind once you focus on your own objectives. Those regulations are applicable when learning to stop self-comparison, but it is also important to understand why.

Everyone Works on Their Own Timing.

When it comes to the promotion of the job your working or purchasing a new car, just come to a full understanding that everything is okay. Everyone's life is a differentiated voyage and should not be linked to someone else's life. Some people reach their height at a young age while others must wait a little longer. Regardless of the condition, you need to embrace what you have and keep improving on yourself. In conclusion, you will be prepared for when blessings come your way.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
