Every semester seems like the worse one. You get so wrapped up in everything that starts to fight and dominate for your attention that by the end of it all you just want to lay down and never come back. It's a fair choice. College is hard and I would be lying if I said I didn't consider how great it would be to just stop. But more than that is the desire to get through another semester. The inward drive to make it to the finish line, to meet another goal I've had since childhood will always be what pushes me. It's cognitively choosing to believe in the ability you have within yourself, even when your potential seems to have burned out long ago.
As the start of a new semester looms ahead, don't forget why you started this whole adventure. No matter what your major is, or what you want to do, you have the potential to be a world changer. The lives that you could potentially impact by simply pushing through one more hard day must be what lights a fire in your soul.
There will always be so many facets of your existence that will be constantly challenged. It is up to you to prioritize what matters most and I hope you always know why you keep going back. One day it will all makes sense and every all-nighter and excessively long paper will be worth it. Stay strong my fellow students, it is just another semester.
