Well, here we are at the end of the semester. You all know what that means. It's time for finals. For most of us this is probably the worst time of the semester because all of our nights during finals week will consist of some mental breakdowns, some cramming in the library, and definitely some all nighters. With all the stress and anxiety and chaos during finals week, we all have to remember to take care of our bodies physically, mentally, and emotionally. So, here's some things to do to keep you sane during one of the worst weeks of the year.

1. Exercise

Exercise during finals week can help you calm down and manage your stress. Of course you will try and convince yourself you could be studying, but taking 45 minutes out of your day to work out can only help you.

2. Phone calls home

Hearing the voice of mom or dad during finals week will make you feel more at home. In the end, you're only about a week ago from going home for the holidays.

3. Chocolate

Well, this was a given. Dark chocolate especially because it is healthy in small dosages. It contains some caffeine that will give you energy in your time of studying.

4. Clean/ Organize your room

This will help you feel better in general. Cleaning always gives you a sense of satisfaction when you are complete.

5. Online Shop

When you need a little study break, go online and just shop. It'll take some stress away.

6. Listen to music

Make a solid playlist of your favorite tunes that'll help keep you calm.

7. Try different methods of studying

Try using note cards for one class, but then make a quizlet for another class. This way you can try some new things while studying.

8. Go outside

The fresh air will be much appreciated when you are stuck inside studying.

9. Yoga

Yoga is always a good work out to calm the mind. Especially dolphin pose which is said to reduce anxiety.

10. Phone Games

Playing a game on your phone can take your mind off of things for a second. Maybe some Candy Crush or Temple Run.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
