Midterms have come and gone and you can almost smell your grandmother's home cooked meals. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and you're counting down the days, or let's be real maybe even the hours. But, you still have two projects, a paper and a test this week before you're free. Not to mention friendsgiving meals to plan, work and campus events. Here are a few ways to stay motivated throughout the week.
1. Save some time for yourself.
Whether it be reading in your eno, watching your favorite movie or making cookies, spend some time doing something you enjoy.
2. Treat Yo Self
I might do this too often, but it's usually something that gives me a little reminder as to why life is so good and so worth while. Go on Etsy and purchase something on your wish list, go to target and get yourself a treat or go somewhere with a friend for dinner that's not fast food to relieve some stress.
3. Tea and Coffee
For some reason hot drinks always add a little peace. Whether you enjoy coffee or tea, make yourself a cup and enjoy the little things.
4. Think About Your Future
Sometimes you just don't feel like school is the right move, but always keep in mind that the tasks your professors are having you do will be useful one day. While I spend time writing and taking pictures for assignments that might not mean much today or even tomorrow, the experience will mean a lot once I have my first real time job.
5. BELIEVE in Yourself
Look yourself in the mirror and give yourself a much needed pep talk.
6. Think about telling all your relatives about your grades
Good grades have always meant a lot to my family and nothing makes me happier than being able to tell my grandfather that I have an A in Latin.
7. Dress nice for class once a week
You might want to kill me for suggesting this one. Forget your XL t-shirt and leggings for just one day and surprise your classmates with an outfit that you'd wear to brunch with your friends. Trust me, when you dress nice you will feel better about yourself.
8. Exercise
I know it doesn't sound like the most exciting activity, but exercising can improve not only your health, but your mindset as well because it releases endorphins.
9. Eat Healthy
I can tell you from experience that when you eat healthy you will feel 10x better than when you order pizza or make a sonic run. Those might be fun late nights, but make a salad instead and invite people over for a night in.
10. Set goals and reward yourself
Most of the time if I know I'm getting something in return, especially when it comes to school work, I might procrastinate a little less. Some might say that my reward could be an A on the next test or paper, but I'd rather choose a bowl of ice cream or a break to watch Netflix.
