6 Methods I Use To Stay Healthy During the Winter

1. Exercising

Maintaining a weekly workout schedule is a great way to stay healthy, increase the efficiency of your immune system and decrease the risk of heart disease. I workout four to five times a week and after the end of every workout, I feel better than when I first walked into the gym! We can read about the great benefits of going to the gym and workout out, but nothing will serve you better than going in and putting in the hard work.

2. Juicing Vegetables

Most of the juices we can buy at the grocery store have lots of sugar added in for taste. The juice has usually been heat processed, which destroys several of the nutrients it would have had. And to make things worse, the juice manufacturers water down the juice with water or sugar water. If you try juicing your own fruit and vegetables, you'll instantly notice how much more nutritious your homemade juice is. The difference between store bought and home made juice is night and day.

3. Meditating

Taking time out of my busy day to sit in a quiet space and meditate helps me to improve my state of mind. Reguarly meditating helps me to feel thankful for what I have, and eager to achieve more. My focus increases, my drive increases, and my inner peace is more prominent than ever before. If you look at brainwave scanners during meditation, you'll see how the brain activity lights up!

4. Sleeping

Getting a good night's sleep is the number one way to stay healthy. If you feel like you don't have enough time to sleep 7 to 8 hours per night, then think again! Getting a good night's sleep will not only help your mind think better, it will help your immune system regenerate, fight off cold viruses and help your imagination thrive during stressful situations.

5. Walking In Nature

There's something magical about taking a walk through the trees, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and no one can quite describe exactly what happens. We are earthlings, and the ecosystems supporting life around the earth couldn't exist without nature, trees and plants, both above and below water! Taking some time away from the day-to-day life of the city and relaxing with mother nature will regenerate your mind, help you find inspiration that you haven't felt before, and increase your overall happiness.

6. Nutrition Supplementation

I don't get all the essential vitamins in my diet consistently, even though I juice vegetables regularly, obtaining a wide variety of the organic vegetables is hard to do during the winter season. So I take supplements and nano supplements. Whole food oragnic supplements are my favorite, because whole food supplements aren't vitamin extracts, they contain nature's intended vitamins and minerals found in food.

Conclusion

Hopefully we've covered some ideas that will benefit you in the upcoming winter months. Stay healthy my friends!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
