Doing homework is really boring and while some people can just jump right on it, others have a hard time getting started. I try to procrastinate homework as much as I can, but when I get into the swing of things, everything seems to fall into place. I will be completing homework assignments within the time I allotted for myself.

The biggest part of doing homework is concentrating. There are too many distractions in our day and age. Cellphones, computers, friends, and even reading can be a distraction. Some of these tricks will either work or not work. It is all about finding your pace and your jump in the right direction.

Here are 5 ways that you can try to concentrate on your homework:

1. Do it with friends who have the same assignment.

Having that motivation can push you in the right direction considering that everyone is doing the same thing. If you have any questions, you will have a whole squad to help you find the answer. If you want someone to check your work, then you still have that same squad and will get one or more opinions. You can't distract people who don't want to be distracted, and you will eventually join the flock.

2. Listen to music that makes you productive.

Everyone has that certain type of music that gets them into a hyped mood. Use that music to do your work since you will now have the energy to get something done. Instead of thinking about the boring assignment, you will be jamming to your favorite playlist.

3. Lock your phone away.

Some people get distracted by every little thing that comes on their phone and soon they are on YouTube looking up why are things creepy? Put your phone in your room and then put yourself in the library or give your phone to someone you are sitting next to and tell them not to let you have it till you finished at least one assignment.

4. Finish the small assignments so soon as you can.

Tackling the smaller assignments will allow you to focus solely on the big projects later. It gives you a sense of accomplishment as well since you will have some completed assignments under your belt. It is almost like getting the nonsense out of the way to help stop your mind from reminding you of everything you have to do.

5. Focus on the big projects first then the smaller ones

For the people who have to get the main projects out of the way, start there. Either finish the whole thing or start a piece then continue doing a little more every day. At least you will get something started and then continue to complete the rest of your assignments.
