In Springfield MO alone this week there have been two protests for the stay at home order. One of them being this past Tuesday in the Springfield Square and the other being this past Saturday at the Battlefield Mall between Glenstone and Battlefield roads.
Many stays at home order protests are spreading across the United States. Many of the protestors are stating that their constitutional rights are being ripped away from them. Many of the citizens protesting against the stay at home believe it is the responsibility of the individual to decide if they would like to stay at home. Many protestors don't want a government handout for employment and rather be working.
Among the citizens of Springfield around a few hundred people have gathered between both of the protests with the bigger one being the one on Saturday at the Battlefield Mall. They are not practicing social distancing and they are going against State and Federal restrictions during our state of emergency.
As far as the citizens who live in the State of Missouri are aware of, the stay at home order is still in effect until May 4th. The Southeast Missourian that states many businesses will be reopening starting this Monday, May 4th. However, they will still need to be practicing social distancing. Stores and other businesses will slowly reopen through a staged process throughout the entire month of May. Although the State of Missouri is reopening, many other States and counties within the State are not as inclined. Kansas City and St. Louis are continuing to extend their stay at home order until May 15th. MAny other States such as Vermont have already extended their stay at home order until May 15th.
