How To Make Sure You Don't Fall Behind This Semester

As the weeks start passing in the spring semester, it's important to make sure to keep up and stay ahead of all your classes, exams, and homework, rather than falling behind and getting really stressed. No one wants to spend their days doing homework, especially if it's not something that's due that night or the next day, but it's so important to put in the work now so you aren't left stressing out later.

I know to some people it might sound stupid, but keeping a planner is so important in making sure you stay organized with everything going on. Being able to keep track of what homework you have due for the week and what quizzes/exams are coming up is really helpful and crucial to not falling behind.

I get that not everyone has free time to do more than just the work due that day or the next, but if you find that you have some free time between classes or after, try and hold back from just laying in bed and watching Netflix. I know it's hard, trust me, but you'll feel better knowing that you won't have as much work next time you sit down and pull out that planner.

Make sure that you put in more time if you know you're struggling in a class, or maybe it just requires more work than another class. Review your notes from the day, do some practice problems, or see when your professor is having office hours and go in for some help. Don't let yourself fall behind because you don't get it and don't want to put in the work. I did that last semester for my Chemistry class. I was struggling, didn't get any help, then stopped putting in the work. I barely passed the class because of it, and let me tell you, it wasn't worth having maybe some more time to lay around and do nothing.

It's better to put in the work now, rather than stressing out and failing later.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
