With the fun of the holidays now long gone, we all seem to be in a sort of slump as the excitement of the new year has passed, and most of us have to get back to our reality of new classes and getting back to school. No more watching Netflix whenever, eating home cooked food, and sleeping as long as we please. However, with the start of a new semester brings a whole round of new possibilities, new classes, a fresh start on your grades, and reconnecting with school friends.

With a new semester, means potentially buying a new planner. This can help you better plan your semester and all the other activities you may have going on and give you a fresh feeling as you write on the crisp, new pages. It might sound weird, but something about a new planner is extremely motivating and exciting!

Starting fresh in all your new classes means you are not behind. Everyone is starting from the same place. You can take advantage of this by getting ahead and not procrastinating. In the moment it might be tough, but you will thank yourself later when you realize you did that assignment that is due tomorrow!

After all the eating and sitting that surrounds you during the holidays, it will feel great to get back to the gym at your school. Feeling happy physically goes hand in hand with feeling happy mentally! Step-by-step is all it takes. Setting small goals is also key in not getting yourself overwhelmed.

Reconnecting with friends from school and enjoying spending time with them is another reason to enjoy spring semester. During break, many of us miss our roommates and friends, and it is always great to see them again after a long time apart!

The cold weather can also be a drag during January and February, but on the plus side of this, there is the potential for some snow days. What could be better than a cozy day in with your roommates with movie marathons, and lots of food?

All in all, starting with an open mind and positive attitude for the semester will really set you out on the right foot. It is always hard getting back to school after a relaxing break at home, but there are many positives and fresh starts that should be able to get you motivated and excited for what is to come. Taking it day-by-day and enjoying all that's around you is the best way to begin a new semester.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
