Going back to school following 3+ weeks of winter break is a difficult and mentally straining process that can be accurately described by the absolute classic "Princess Diaries."
You try your hardest to make a good impression on the first day of classes.
Only to realize how horrible of an idea that was in the first place,
But you're still feeling your first-day look.
You get called out for not participating on the first day.
You get excited about buying new books, then realize how much they're going to cost.
And that's just the rental price.
Your professor assigns homework during syllabus week.
Bonus points if it involves the textbook you didn't buy, yet.
You realize more than half of your finals are going to be cumulative.
You go out for the first time since last semester.
You try to readjust yourself to sitting in awkward and uncomfortable desk chairs.
You eat in the dining hall again and remember why you love being home so much.
You just can't get yourself to that 8:30 on Monday morning on time (ever).
You get ready for that 8:30 in the dark because your roommate is still asleep.
You prepare yourself to tackle everything this new semester will throw at you.
You see your friends for the first time since before break and trying to catch up.
You watch all your friends roll up in cars while you're just, like...
With all of that being said -- here's to a semester as successful as Julie Andrews mattress surfing!
