Top 5 Ways to Start the Semester off Right

In This Article:

Here are some tips to start the new school year off right!

1. Read the syllabus before class

In order to not be totally unprepared on the first day of school, reading or glancing over the syllabus and course schedule is not the worst option.

2. Get supplies for class

if the syllabus says you need to buy an i-clicker and a certain book, then maybe you should consider purchasing those before the first week of class. Otherwise, you may get caught behind and start the semester off totally wrong. A key to success is not causing unnecessary stress.

3. Get good rest over break

One way to start the semester off right is to treat yourself to some sleep so you are prepared and well-rested before you need to start focusing on classes.

4. Start a routine

Start the semester off right by setting a routine based around your classes and following through with it. Setting a routine relieves stress and keeps you focused and on track during the semester.

5. Treat yourself to a self care day

Make sure to take breaks and relax when you really need it. Having a self-care day can alleviate stress and make you more prepared to tackle your classes!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." It all has happened so fast.

You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo
