We all like to pretend that we are real makeup artists when doing our morning routine, like the beautiful girls we see plastering our Instagram Discover page. They have such talent and it seems like they can pull anything off! Dramatic fake eyelashes, super smokey eyeshadow, and...teal lipstick?
With brands such as Anastasia Beverly-Hills and Melt Cosmetics coming out with brightly colored lipsticks like teals and blues, purples, and neon pinks, more and more makeup artists are wearing them in their featured looks... And they are rocking them.
I expected to do double-takes every time I saw somebody wearing these crazy colors on their lips, but I find myself loving them more and more every time I see them. So I wonder, if all of these girls look so good wearing black and blue and yellow lipsticks, there is no reason anybody on the street can't rock them too!
Society is all caught up in thinking that you have to stick to the status quo and look horribly average every day of your life. However, it is hard to deny that when we see people wearing something out of the ordinary and looking amazing in it, we feel a twinge of jealousy that we can't be that confident in ignoring what people think of us. I know I can't even leave the house in a mildly revealing outfit without feeling like a caged animal at the mercy of everybody's piercing gazes (totally over-dramatic example, but you know what I mean). It's time to forget about what people think of being different, and go be different!

I'm a huge supporter of girls who love doing makeup whether mildly or extensively, as I believe it is an art that is under-appreciated. One part of makeup that is so often disregarded is lipstick, and it is the one thing that really pulls a whole face together. But there's no reason to only go for nudes or reds. The many colors of lipstick are made for a reason: for you to wear them!
Lately, more and more girls have been wearing blues and black on their lips, and as strange and dramatic as they sound, they look beautiful and exotic. The better you can pair it with a makeup look, the better you can feel about showing it off!

Ladies (and gents), no matter what you look like, you can find an exotic color to rock on your own! Just throw your best face on and show everybody that you have the confidence to break the norm... And look fabulous doing it.
