How Thinking Positively Could Change Your Life

It's the easiest thing in the world to be negative. You can sit at the coffee shop, sip your coffee, and judge the other girl with perfectly curled hair and long eyelashes. You can find every horribly negative thing about her just to make yourself feel better because you think you don't look as pretty as she does. It's the easiest thing to pick someone else apart because you don't feel adequate.

Instead of picking that girl apart and judging her, think positively.

I know you're thinking, this is so cliche, one doesn't just start to think positively about themselves before they're perfect. When you're not rich, and you don't have the longest hair or eyelashes, the skinniest body- why should you feel more than that person who is?

Just tell yourself: I am who I am, and I don't need to compare myself to anyone. Sure, that girl does have the best eyelashes or the best body, so I should be positive and compliment her. You should compliment yourself too. Say, "I have great eyes and white teeth, and I should be proud of that, instead of tearing myself down."

Thinking positively can change not only the way you think about yourself, but it also has health benefits. When you think positively, it can decrease acne, headaches, and wrinkles. It can also help your heart and the way you breathe. Just taking five minutes out of your day to appreciate yourself can help you find inner peace.

Coaching Positive Performance said, "When you adopt a positive attitude, it will take some time to make it routine. In the beginning, you will likely have to work hard to make sure you are being positive in every aspect of your life. You will have to make an effort to stay positive and to think positive. It can be difficult, especially if you often give in to negative thoughts and actions. Developing a positive attitude is about making everything in your life positive. That means associating with positive people, keeping yourself in positive situations and surrounding yourself with positive things. You have to get rid of negativity. You have to start being positive about everything. You are paving your road with the positive, and this will lead you to positive results."

Learning to think positively and view yourselves in a brighter light can drastically change the way you treat yourself and your friends. Learning to think this way may take time, but it is helpful in the long run.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
