4 Reasons You Should Start Bullet Journaling Today

In This Article:

One of my favorite things about bullet journaling is that I can make my pages however I want them to be. You can doodle all over the pages and make it really creative, or you can stick to traditional planner layouts. – It's up to you. On top of finally being organized, Bullet Journaling has been a great stress reliever for me, especially being a college student. I really enjoy being able to come home after a stressful day and doodle and plan out my week. It really makes me feel like I have my life together.

This is an example of a layout I created myself. coffeexconfidence.com

You don't need much to get started Bullet Journaling, but once you do... you WON'T be able to stop.

1. You can unleash your creative side

The best thing about Bullet Journaling is that you can design your pages however you want. You can doodle all over the pages and make it really creative, or you can stick to a traditional planner layout with minimal design and color - It's up to you. I choose to try to keep my pages simple, but with some color. I want to start spicing up my pages, especially with the holidays coming up, there are so many cute designs you can incorporate.

2. You can personalize your Bullet Journal

Have you ever had a planner that would be perfect if it just had a little more this, and a little less that? Yeah, me too.

My life never matches up to the average planners that you can get at any local store, therefore no matter how much I try to plan out my days and weeks, I still feel a tad bit lost. The thing I love the most about Bullet Journals is that you get to create your own weekly, monthly, or daily spreads specifically to meet your wants and needs. Heck, you can make it anything you want it to be. The pages are blank with dots all over, which allows you to keep lines and words neat and symmetrical. (This is essential for an OCD gal like myself)

You can find all of the materials that you need to design your Bullet Journal at your local Walmart or office supply store. You can also find them at your convenience on Amazon as well, here are a few links to some of my favorite supplies to get you started:

Leuchtturm Journal

Tombow Dual Brush Fine Tip Pen & Marker

Zebra Dual Tip Highlighters

3. You can get multiple uses out of a Bullet Journal

Some people also use their Bullet Journal as a daily journal, agenda, fitness/health log, goal tracker, and more. If you don't necessarily need an agenda, you can use your bullet journal as something else, your options are endless.

For getting the upmost use out of your Bullet Journal, you can combine multiple aspects together to form an all purpose journal that meets all of your needs. This ensures everything that you could possibly need is located in one place, so you will feel like you have your life under control.

4. You have room to make mistakes

The WORST thing, in my opinion, is planning out your whole week and then realizing you wrote everything on the wrong page or under the wrong date. If you're like me, this will drive you insane, but don't worry this fear can be diminished WITHOUT a bottle of white out or unnecessary scribbles. Bullet Journals allow room for mistakes. If you hate the page you created - rip it out and start over, no biggie.

XOXO,

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
