Starbucks Red Cups Are Here!

I don't know about you, but this week I feel like I need a distraction from the constant stress going on around me. Something else to focus on and remind me that Christmas is just around the corner. Well, per usual, Starbucks is helping me out in that department, and I couldn't be more excited.

In case you live under a rock, I'm here to remind you that red cup season has started at Starbucks, bringing some red cups into our lives once again. After a week of seeing green, which probably could have gone over better, the holidays are officially here along with 13 new designs created by Starbucks customers from six countries.

For years, everyone's been getting excited about the colored cups, which usually include some sort of Christmas or holiday design. Last year, the elimination of the design led to some backlash, though. Some suggested that the plain red cups means Starbucks was against the holiday season, while others complained about the lack of winter, and some a lack of creativity. A few, however, myself included, loved the plain red design. As far as I'm concerned, it's not about what's on the cup as much as what's in it anyway. And with Peppermint Mochas back in our lives, what really do we have to complain about?

This year, however, Starbucks went all out, premiering the 13 different designs that are each unique in their own way. Some feature reminders of Christmas, while others are simply reminiscent of winter, but one thing has remained the same: they're red, and they're filled with delicious holiday beverages.

Take a look at some of the designs below and try to pick a favorite! I haven't been able to thus far, but I'm hoping to get my hands on one of each before the holiday season comes to an end, just so I can get the full Starbucks Holiday Experience.

Simple white snowflakes make everything better, even if they won't be actually falling from the sky for a few more weeks!

Who doesn't love a red reindeer to brighten up their holiday cup?

There's something about this design that I loved. It's big, it's bold, and it's different!

For anyone who's a huge fan of all things candy cane, this cup is for you!

Simple holly berries remind me of Christmases long ago!

This cup, filled with ornaments, gets me more than a little excited for decorating my apartment.

Although, this one reminds me that I'll have to probably untangle the Christmas lights that I threw in the box last year.

This was the first Starbucks Red Cup I got this year and isn't it adorable?

This one just reminds me of the perfect Christmas sweater, all warm and comfy and right.

And the simplicity of this one weaves in spectacularly with the intricate design, bringing balance to the little red cup.

Holiday cups at Starbucks will be available throughout the remainder of the holiday season, so go out there and get yourself a red cup to help kick off the 2016 Holiday Season!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
