Now that Halloween is over its time for everything that has to do with the holiday season. Christmas tree's are going up at the mall, the commercials are starting on the TV and Starbucks has started selling their coffee in their Holiday Edition cups.... and people are not happy.

Last year Starbucks cups caused the same uproar. Customers were upset with the plain red and green cups. Saying the simplicity and lack of snow flakes and Christmas tree's was basically taking the fun out of Christmas. This years design features a green cup, and a pretty unique design that Starbucks has named as a symbol of unity. The design is a mosaic of over one hundred people created in one single line. Howard Shultz, the CEO of Starbucks explains that the purpose of this years cup is to show as "a reminder that all we share the same values, and that we need to be good to each other" and to "show a symbol of unity during the amid divisive election."

Of course, this years cups caused a similar up rise and people took to social media to show their disapproval. Saying that the cup is "political brain washing" and that "Starbucks hates Christmas" because of the lack of Santa or holiday cheer.

Really people.... if a cup is making you this upset and ruining your holiday, you have some serious issues. Personally my cup could be covered in profanity and I wouldn't care, I just want my morning coffee, but we live in a day and age where everyone is offended by everything. Does the color of a cup or its lack of snow covered tree's really that big of a deal, that you refuse to get your coffee from a certain place? Te cup shows unity, which I believe is a big part of the holiday season. The purpose of the cup serves as a reminder to be kind to others, another big part of the holiday season, and just life in general.

So whether you like the cup or not, and while the cup isn't covered in snowflakes, Santa Claus or sleigh bells, the cup get the holiday message across: be kind to all this holiday season and everyday, and remember that we all share something special in this crazy world.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
