Starbucks

Two creams, two sugars for me, an extra pump of vanilla and no water for her. Everyone has their preferences in terms of how they like their coffee or lattes made. For many, no matter how the drink is made, Starbucks is definitely the place to get it. The best part is that each season Starbucks decides to make some heartening additions to their classic menu. No matter your mood; happy or sad, stressed or calm, there will always be the perfect drink to satisfy.

Fall

Happy: Pumpkin Spice Latte

We wait all year for it. The signs are everywhere as we patiently watch the temperature drop and anticipate the leaves changing color. Pumpkin is finally back in season! As you are enjoying the perfectly chilled sweater weather, make sure to grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte and keep the good vibes rolling.

Sad: Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino

As heart-warming as fall can be, everyone gets in a slump at one point or another, and that’s okay. The best way to break that mood is with something chocolatey and delicious. The Salted Caramel Mocha frap is perfect for a warmer fall day when you need a little pick me up.

Stressed: Hazelnut Blonde Roast Coffee

When life starts catching up with you and you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed, sometimes it's best to just simplify. A classic roasted coffee will warm you up and calm you down. It's great ordered with just cream and sugar (but I prefer mine with almond milk).

Calm: Vanilla Chai Latte

Nothing fulfills a fall craving quite like a lightly spiced and creamy Vanilla Chai Latte. If you’re feeling relaxed and want to sip on something warm and sweet then this drink is sure to satisfy. It’s also a tea rather than a coffee so if you don’t consider yourself a bean aficionado like most, then this might be your best choice.

Winter

Happy: Chestnut Praline Latte

As winter comes along and the air starts to chill, one of the greatest feelings is snuggling up with a warm latte by a fire. This Chestnut Praline Latte is sweet and nutty and really hits the spot on a happy winter afternoon.

Sad: Eggnog Latte

Trying to battle the winter downs can be tough, but this season always brings family together, hosts holiday gatherings and best of all, delivers eggnog to all of the local grocery stores. An Eggnog Latte can be a great way to toss out all negativity and shift your focus to the best parts of the winter months.

Stressed: Peppermint Mocha

Whether you’re gift shopping or trying to plan a party, the holiday season can tend to be stressful at times. Peppermint is proven to be a great way to relax and relieve that stress.

Calm: Caramel Brûlée Latte

Going to grab a Caramel Brûlée Latte can be a great addition to running errands or maybe doing some work while the snow descends outside. It’s a warm classic that is simple yet hits the spot.

Spring

Happy: Mango Black Tea Lemonade

Finally, spring has sprung! The sun starts to warm your skin as the chilled breeze slowly dies down. After waiting through the long cold winter months, I'm sure you’ll be thrilled that it’s now socially acceptable to have an iced tea beverage. This drink is a mix of a summery lemonade and a sweet mango black tea.

Sad: Caramelized Honey Latte

Brand new and definitely something exciting to anticipate. The Caramelized Honey Latte will turn any bad mood away. It’s supposedly sweet mixed with a shot of espresso for a little pick me up.

Stressed: Iced Caramel Macchiato

If you haven’t noticed, the theme here is that when you’re feeling stressed it’s always best to simplify and get back to the basics. The Iced Caramel Macchiato has been a Starbucks classic for years. It's coffee on the bottom topped off with milk and drizzled with caramel.

Calm: Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with a pump of Raspberry

This one doesn't come directly from the menu but it adds some excitement to a calm spring day. The Vanilla Bean Frap is a classic that’s delicious on its own but when you ask for a pump of Raspberry (or even 1 pump Raspberry 1 pump Peach) its pretty pink/peach color is hard to resist.

Summer

Happy: Passion Tea Lemonade

The all-time best refresher on the Starbucks menu continues to be the Passion Tea Lemonade. It’s perfect to grab on your way to the beach or just laying out with a book in the backyard. It can be ordered sweetened or unsweetened depending on preference, but either way, it always keeps everyone in a good mood.

Sad: The Pink Drink

The Pink Drink is a new fad that just this last year became popular. It’s made of the Strawberry Acai refresher already on the menu in addition to coconut milk and fresh strawberries all over ice. The drink gets its name from its pretty pink color which can turn any frown upside down.

Stressed: Iced Chai Tea Latte

The essence of spices and herbs tend to calm tension and stress. While the Hot Chai Latte is perfect in the winter, the iced latte does a good job of cooling down for the hot rising temperatures.

Calm: Peach Green Tea Lemonade

Similar to the Passion Tea Lemonade the Peach Green Tea Lemonade is light and perfect for a hot day of relaxing outside.

So Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer. Doesn’t matter how you’re feeling, go order up!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
