Every four years, the Democratic National Convention (DNC) is full of a lot of star power, ranging from stars in the political arena to celebrities. In addition to major political figures like President Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren delivering passionate speeches, many of Hollywood’s biggest names took the chance to voice their political opinions as well. Whether they were delivering a speech, performing a song or two, or there just to watch, Hollywood showed up big time to support Hillary Clinton and the DNC.

Unlike the Republican National Convention (RNC), the DNC had a much more fun and lighthearted feel, which can be partially attributed to the celebrity presence. Stars like Chloe Grace Moretz, Elizabeth Banks, America Ferrera and Lena Dunham all delivered speeches in support of Hillary Clinton. Although the speeches themselves were serious in content, the delivery brought a light and fresh feel to the more stern convention environment. To bring a little comedy to the convention, Elizabeth Banks mocked Donald Trump’s entrance at the RNC with the blue lights, victory stance, and “We Are The Champions” music. Also, many of these celebrity speakers represent a voice for a certain group of individuals to identify with. America Ferrera spoke on behalf of the Latin American community and Chloe Grace Moretz had a call to action for the millennial generation.

Passionate musical performances were another staple of this year’s DNC. Singers like Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and Carole King all sang their hearts out in support of the former First Lady. Perry herself is an avid Hillary supporter and has been a major advocate of hers since her original run for the presidency in 2008. She has gone campaigning with her in the past and is always up for a good America or Clinton themed outfit. In addition to the countless musical acts at the convention itself, many stars contributed to an A capella version of the song “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten. Celebrities like Sia, Elizabeth Banks, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jane Fonda, Idina Menzel, and many more sang along to the inspirational tune that was shown on night two of the convention.

Although many celebrities in attendance contributed to the convention in some form, several just came to support Hillary Clinton. Stars like Orlando Bloom, Bradley Cooper, Shonda Rimes and Debra Messing all were there in support of Clinton. Overall, the DNC proved to be a success with the Hollywood celebrity attendance serving to boost the moral to new heights through passionate speeches, celebratory performances, and an overall positive presence.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
