In the fashion industry is ever-evolving. Trends are constantly changing. The coming and going of fashion trends sometimes make it difficult for girls to consistently keep up with the latest fads. Take it from the girl who wears a black t-shirt almost every single day, there are ways to be simple, yet trendy with the same staple pieces in your wardrobe year-round.

Here are 5 staple clothing items all girls need in their wardrobe year-round:

1. A pair of ripped jeans.

Whether it’s a mild winter day or a cool summer evening, a pair of ripped jeans is essential in making any simple outfit a bit more trendy.

2. Basic T-shirts.

Owning basic tees help you add simplicity to any outfit. Throw a black or white tee with a cardigan, jean jacket, or pair of your favorite jeans or shorts.

3. A pair of your favorite sneakers.

I recently bought a pair of velcro beige sneakers from Urban Outfitters and find myself wearing them almost on the daily. Anyone can pull off a cute pair of sneakers year-round.

4. A denim jacket.

The beauty of a staple jean jacket is that you can pull it off in any season. Throw a scarf on in the fall, a sweater underneath in the winter, a tee in the spring, and a pair of shorts and flip-flops in the summer.

5. Lightweight sweaters.

Who said sweater weather had to be restricted to just fall and winter? On those breezy spring days and summer nights, throwing on a thin, comfortable sweater. It creates a trendy way for you to look cute while remaining comfortable.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
