I Stand With Kesha

Imagine having to go to work and face horror or something so terrible. Seeing someone who caused you physical or emotional pain. Imagine having your life spiral out of control because of one event.

I stand with Kesha. By no means am I saying I am a feminist. I am not saying that I am going to support every internet debate, every court case, but this one I 100 percent do. Now, you may not agree with me, but this is my opinion.

I could not imagine going through such emotional stress and have to relive it with the same people over and over again. I would never want to be in that position where I was so confined and someone denied me.

Kesha is now being forced to stay in her contract at Sony with someone who almost caused her her life. What has society come to? This is teaching people that is okay to make other people feel badly about themselves. This is showing the world that here it is okay to make people feel so badly about themselves they have to go into rehab for an eating disorder. She was sexually assaulted and is still forced to work with the company that did nothing to stop this? Why should she be trapped somewhere that causes her to relive the trauma over and over again?

We live in a world today that people wear shirts that say it is OK to rape people. IT IS NOT! As a women I shouldn't have to walk around afraid that something may happen to me. I shouldn't have to watch what I wear because if I don't then I was "asking for it." I may only be 19 but if this is the world now what will the world be when I have children in the future? Are they never going to be able to leave this house?

I stand with Kesha because her court ruling was wrong. I stand with Kesha because this decision affects all women who have ever been sexually assaulted. It sends out a message that despite the trauma that has happened to any women or even man and they want to take it to court, this could happen. It makes people afraid to come forward and talk about what happened to them. I stand with Kesha along with many others.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
