When things are rough... Just remember this...

1 Corinthians 15:58

If you don't get anything else from this post, remember 1 Corinthians 15:58.

This verse has been framed for me by a couple what I worked with one summer.

I was working with children and it has many difficulties and frustrations, But the Lord's word will never come back void.

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

Why is life so hard?

Why does God allow things and not others?

I see people dying, getting hurt, getting sick... people are asking, "If there is a God, why did this happen?"

Stand firm.

But how?

How

can someone who has just gone through something really hard

Be strong?

Trust.

You can't be strong without trust in God. "The work of the Lord"

If we are for the Lord, nothing can move us, we are "steadfast, immovable".

It is never easy. But...

God gives us things we can handle, never anything that we can't.

We stand up to Goliath, a timid and small David.

Giving God the glory he deserves we praise him and fight the good fight until we take down the giants in front of us.

We can conquer. God will conquer.

Life kicks you, and knocks you down.

Jesus is the lighthouse that guides us to the shore, safely and lovingly

He shows us the way... through the dark

Through the storm, and huge waves

"Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now"

The Lord loves each and every one of us and wants the best, why can't we always remember that?

Whether it's life, a sport, school, work, relationships...

The Lord is there.... the Lord is with each and every one of us.

Through it all, through it all.... my eyes are on you.

Looking up at you, not on the waves ahead, just you.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Stand firm. Stand for God.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
