Speaking as a woman, this movie is long overdue. Speaking as a huge Robert Downey Jr. fan, I'm sad to see him go. Yet it's the perfect timing for Marvel to have not only a woman main character but an African-American. With all the #BlackLivesMatter protests, they need something more than the single Black Panther movie set for 2017. It's time for the women to represent!
As much as I love Black Widow and all the women of SHIELD, it's been a long time coming for a women superhero movie. For too long have our only displays been Black Widow! We need more, Marvel!
Yet to further our disappointment, Tony Stark will still be in "Civil War II" and the upcoming "Inifinity Wars," both years away. What does that mean for the fans of this 15 year old? Also, what in the world would make Tony ever think that someone so young would be a good fit?
With his relationship with Peter Parker in "Captain America: Civil War," it became apparent that Tony had little concern for an age limit in the area of vigilante. His worry over Peter's health was very heartwarming, even though Tony was pretty much the cause of it.
While the release date on "Iron Man 4" is still unknown, and the movie not even 100 percent confirmed, questions are buzzing through our heads. Why even mention this possibility? Also, what the hell is the Times saying about Robert Downey Jr. being too old for Iron Man? Excuse you, but Maggie Smith and Betty White are still acting. Why should age be a factor? If he's still healthy and able 10 years down the road, let the man don the Iron Man suit. It's not that big a deal.
Ageism rant over. Continuing on with the initial question: what does this mean for fans of Iron Woman? Will we have to wait 10 years for "Iron Man 4"? What do you think about this change?
Food for thought.
