The Stages Of Summer As Told By Disney Gifs

Summer vacation is here. Students everywhere are jumping for joy because we no longer have to worry about homework or finals anymore, well, at least not until August when the next semester begins. For many college students, we are coming home for the first time since Christmas break, wallets empty and beyond tired, ready to take a break from being an adult. We have spent the last few weeks cramming for finals and overdosing on coffee, saying our goodbyes to our favorite seniors and our new friends, and on top of those emotional roller coasters we have to move ALL of our stuff out of the dorms...which we are wondering how and why we have so much stuff when we came with so little. The day to go home finally comes and let's be honest, we are all so ready to be home in our big comfy beds, with our big stocked kitchen only a few steps away.

Now you've most likely been living with at least one roommate, not leaving much privacy like what you have when you are home. Finally, you can walk around in your underwear and not have to worry about your roommate and their friends walking in.

We have been talking about all of the weight we have gained over the year and how we're going to lose all of that weight right when we get home. The first few days at home you are motivated because you aren't working and you have little to worry about. You go to the gym and give it your all or as much as your lungs can't handle after not using them for so long. After going to sleep because you are so tired from that workout, you wake up sore but convince yourself you're going back to the gym. Well, it turns out you went too hard and can't even lift those little five pound weights.

At school we would wake up and go to class, then maybe go workout or do some kind of errand, but we didn't have to plan our day out around work. Sometimes you have to wake up early to go to the gym before work or maybe you have an appointment and before work is the only time you can go. Waking up in the morning is the worst, trust me I know, but sometimes you have to do it.

One of our favorite things when we get home is getting to eat all of our favorite local eats. Sure the chains are good, butt nothing beats that little hole in the wall that serves your favorite dishes in that special way only they can do. Let's face it, you're probably as happy as Pooh Bear when he gets his honey.

Pay day is the best day. Your wallet is filled again, the bank account is no longer hurting, life is good! When you get it, you think of all of the things you can do with all of that money...like maybe investing in a new Patagonia?

But that excitement is quickly stripped away once you look and see the taxes that were taken out. Yeah there's adulthood again, kicking your butt.

Getting home from work, you are exhausted and more than ready for bed...even though it is only six. Your feet hurt and if you're really lucky even your head, welcome to the real world and a glimpse at your future, don't you love growing up?

Even though you are working, there do come those days off where you can catch up on the things you need to get done and even maybe adventure around with your friends.

Maybe if you're lucky, you'll meet a cute boy or girl at a bonfire and have some summer lovin!

But one thing, even though we're busy with work and trying to save up for next years adventures at school, remember to have some fun and don't work all of the time, you have the rest of your life to work and you're only young once!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

As this semester wraps up, students can’t help but be stressed about finals. After all, our GPAs depends on these grades! What student isn’t worrying about their finals right now? It’s “goodbye social life, hello library” time from now until the end of finals week.

1. Finals are weeks away, I’m sure I’ll be ready for them when they come.
