9 Stages of Summer as told by spongeBob

It always starts off with an ambitious set of goals.

In This Article:

1. Feeling like school isn't over yet.

So really...no more finals or papers? Is it really over?

2. Making an unrealistic bucket list.

You probably include some basic things on the list, like "road trip with friends".

3. Adjusting to life back at home.

Now you can go back to your favorite deli, the beach near your house, and be back in your own bedroom.

4. Catching up with friends.

The first few weeks back consist of cramming to catch up with as many friends from your home town as possible.

5. Starting work.

...before you know it, it feels like most of your friends (and even you) have started work and packing schedules that conflict with many bucket list items.

6. Watching Netflix non-stop.

Now that work has started, the moment you get home nothing sounds more appealing than binging your favorite show on Netflix.

7. Not wanting to leave the house.

At first, it's simply watching Netflix after work. Pretty soon, the laziness has spread to the weekends.

8. Realizing summer is almost over.

It's almost August?!?! But you've done nothing on that bucket list.

9. Trying to cram everything in the last week.

Before you know it, you're faced with packing for school and saying goodbye to friends and family (and your room) all over again.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
