Being president of a student organization is a high honor. Your peers elected you to run this amazing thing! Congrats! It seems like it is all sunshine and rainbows. You have all of these new ideas you want to bring into your organization, with fresh enthusiasm. But it isn't all fun in games when you sit down to plan your first meeting.
When You First Get Elected, It Feels Like This.
You feel a sense of pride and excitement! But then it starts to hit you.
Then It Feels Like This.
You start thinking, "Oh my god they trust me to run this. I don't know what I am doing."
You Start Gaining Confidence As You Start Planning Out The Year.
Then It Is Time For Your First Meeting As President.
It's time to put on your game face and take on the meeting!
And No One Is Prepared.
You walk in all ready to start enacting all of your plans, but no one is ready to take on what you have planned.
But That's Okay, You Are Still Determined To Make Things Work.
It's only a small snag. You still got this!
By The End Of Your First Meeting, You Are Ready To Take On the World... After A Nap.
Then Comes Planning Events, More Meetings, and Other Responsibilities
You will feel like you are dying inside. You probably are but it doesn't stop you from screaming a bit.
You Finally Feel Like You're On Top Of Everything, And Then New Things Start Piling Up.
You Always Have That One Person That Doesn't Know What Is Going On
But At The End Of The Day, You Love What You Do And Wouldn't Change A Thing
At the end of the day, we love being the President of our student organization. No matter the stress, questions, great events or everything in between, we love the organization as if it is our baby.
