The thought of going out on Friday night helps me get through the busiest of weeks. Between juggling my classes, my personal life, and sleeping, it is so much fun to let loose on the weekend. Some weeks can leave me more exhausted than others, and all I want to do is stay in. Often times, I can find a few friends who are feeling the same way, and we decide to navigate the low-key Friday night together. We all have a general plan about how the night will go, but it never ends up as we expect it to. These are the stages of staying in on a Friday night.

1. We decide to get dinner.

The first thing we usually do when we plan to spend the night in is eat dinner. Sometimes we eat on campus, other times we get food delivered to the dorm room. Either way, the night always starts off by eating. Usually, it's because we are tired (hence why we are staying in in the first place) and we won't want to go out later. Plus, who doesn't love to pig out on a Friday?

2. We watch Netflix.

I don't have a tv in my room, and none of my friends do either. We have to work with what we've got when it comes to watching Netflix in the room. Our set up looks something like this: we put a desk chair in the middle of the room, turn on our fairy lights and turn off the overhead light, and then sit on the floor around the computer. It's like a homemade movie theatre!

3. Friends text us and ask what we are doing.

This is when things usually start to veer from our original plan for the night. When we tell them we are just chilling, they'll either reply with something along the lines of "Cool, have fun!" or they will ask to come over and hang with us. The more the merrier, but not if you are trying to lay low for the night.

4. More friends come to hang and we end up going out.

When our other friends show up to our Netflix binge session, it isn't long before we end up getting ready to go to a party, out to get more food, or to see more friends. We end up leaving and see where the night takes us.

5. We come back a few hours later.

Before we know it, it's 2 in the morning when we *did not* plan on being up that late. This just proves that there's really no such thing as a Friday night in at college. No matter how hard you try, something fun ends up happening! Don't fight it, just go with the flow. So much better than a Friday night in, anyway.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
