Stages Of The Night You Weren't Going To Drink

Because we've all been there...

Stages Of The Night You Weren't Going To Drink

We've all had that weekend where we don't want to go out, or get drunk or party at all, but we do anyways. We get bamboozled into the very thing we were trying to avoid and usually end up having either one of two things happen: have the most epic night ever imagined, or the literal worst night one could ever dream to have. The following are the stages of the night when you thought you weren't going to drink... Oh, how wrong you were.

The night starts with innocent you saying, "I am not drinking." Cold turkey, "I ain't doing it," mentality. But then "that" friend comes over, you know the one. They convince you into just one drink and you promise that it is it, you will hold true. It's just you and your friend at first, a nice casual drink with just the two of you.

All of a sudden people gather. Where they came from you have no idea, but you are surrounded and you've ended up with three to five drinks in your system. An hour or so later you've ended up somewhere that is not your house and you want to get back to it until you hear your friends saying that they're headed to yet another bar. Why no go, right?

Home has become such a far away place in your mind. You know there was something you had to do tomorrow but at this point who cares. A few more drinks in and you are past the stage of completely ready to rage; you can easily say you've hit savage mode. Let's stay up all night, who cares if you have work. Shots anyone?

That's when you wake up the next morning and you have work, class, tests, studying and family hanging out to do. You missed something important and you either have no way to explain yourself or you have the best story to somewhat back up your drunken night and overwhelming hangover.

Going out with friends is always a blast and there are always stories, but unexpected nights out are almost better because that's what they are- unexpected, unplanned and completely spontaneous. With college consisting of hard tests and lots of studying, this is the perfect way to let loose and chill your mind for a second. So here's to all those students out there with crazy fun weekend stories of nothing but the unexpected

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
