10 Stages Of Studying For Finals

It's that time of the year, ladies and gents. We're pulling all nighters for last minute cram sessions, eating the greasiest comfort foods that are available to us, and nearly on the verge of pulling out our hair. This is the one week that makes us all cringe as we slump a little further down into our seats on the "quiet floor" of the library. Here are the stages I'm positive many of us go through when studying for finals:

1. Thinking you have so much time to get everything done and memorized.

So, we put it off forget about it.

2. But, two days before the exam, realizing you should probably start studying because that final on Tuesday is cumulative.

3. Emailing your professor because you're in panic mode, and honestly, nothing makes sense anymore.

4. Reading your textbook or notes for an hour and realizing none of it is sticking in your brain.

5. Accepting defeat and reverting to food to make it all better.

6. Finding a way to gather yourself and attempting to approach the books again.

7. Going on that seventh hour in the library...

8. Ready to go to war with whomever tries to disturb you.

9. Doing last minute calculations on what you need on the final exam to get a certain grade in the class.

10. Calling it quits and hoping for the best.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
