21 Stages Of Shopping At Target

There is no such thing as a quick trip to Target.

When I tell people I am making a quick trip to Target, I'm lying. Who makes a "quick trip" to Target? No one just simply walks in and walks out with all the things they needed. A trip to Target is always an adventure. It's honestly a black hole that traps you inside and you don't even realize it until you leave two hours later with a trunk full of bags. Here are the stages of shopping at Target:

1. Finding a parking spot.

2. Typing in your phone the five things you need.

3. Grabbing a basket because you only need a few things (but then eventually going back to get a cart).

4. Making a pit stop at Starbucks for no reason.

5. When you see the $3 and under section.

6. Deciding you need a pair of $1 fuzzy socks for whatever holiday it is.

7. Stopping at every sample station on the days they are out.

8. Debating on buying those healthy drinks because they are buy-one-get-one.

9. Going down every aisle of the grocery section.

10. Looking at the fun designer luggage and wanting to buy it even though you aren't going on a trip anytime soon.

11. Going down the blanket aisle and obviously buying a new soft blanket.

12. Trying on basically every shoe that has your size.

13. Looking through the holiday/seasonal section knowing you aren't buying any of it.

14. Stopping by the workout aisle and thinking to yourself how you should work out more.

15. Checking out the new kid toys, questioning why you didn't have things like that as a child.

16. Galavanting through the swimsuits and clothes wondering when Target got such cute things.

17. Looking at the workout attire thinking you'd workout more in those leggings.

18. Finally making your way to the checkout after two hours.

19. Questioning how your total came to $95 and 12 bags when you only came for five items.

20. Packing your bags into your car.

21. Getting on the road only to realize you forgot two of the five things you originally went to Target for.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
