Vacations are the best and we all love going on different trips, right? I know I love going on vacation, especially vacations that are longer than the norm. However, what about getting back from vacation? This is like the worst ever. One week you are going to these amazing places, relaxing on the beach, not having a care in the world, and then boom it's over. All of a sudden you find yourself home again, going to your same old boring job. You see, I just spent seven days on a cruise ship. Although all vacations are tough to return from, a cruise is arguably one of the hardest ones. So with my recent experience, here are my top five stages of returning from vacation.

1. Saddness

If you are not overall just sad, you went on the wrong trip. Like it has been three days since I got off my cruise ship, and I am still so sad that it is over. Can I just go back now?

Now with that being said, if you went on a cruise and you are not at all sad about being back, you are absolutely crazy. Being on a cruise ship, you meet so many different people, you get to know them and then boom, you just have to leave them not knowing if you will ever see them again. How is this not sad?

2. Planning

Once you get done with vacation a lot of people start planning what they will do on their next vacay.

You see my family already had another cruise booked for us, the only problem is it is 503 days away. 503 DAYS, WHAT! That is way too long. So when we got off of our cruise, we realized this and started looking at cruises that are a lot sooner.

3. Denial

So you are telling me I just spent seven days on a boat and now I have to go back to work? Wait and I have to start school in a couple weeks too? This can not be happening.

This is a very very real stage. When you are on vacation you can just relax and do whatever you want and then you have to return to reality and it takes a while for that to actually sink in.

4. Anger

When you return from a trip you feel all sorts of emotion from sadness to anger. Who is happy to go back to work after an amazing vacation? Crazy people.

I got home at 7 am on a Tuesday and then had to go to work at 2:00 pm that same day. I was already sad my trip was over and then I had to go to work on top of that, no. I was in no way happy and in every way angry.

5. Acceptance

So now you have been back for a few days and you have accepted that you have to go to work or school or in my case both work and school. You are still not thrilled about it but you know it is what has to be done. Plus the more money you make, the sooner you can go on your next awesome vacation.

Although these fives stages of returning from vacation are difficult, the overall vacation itself is well worth it!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
