Your hair is a big part of you. You have to look at it every day in the mirror as it frames your face. You have to style it every morning, and wash it often, and brush the knots out of it nightly. To the outsider, your hair may represent your style or your heritage, or how well kempt you are. However, it does not define you as a person. It's just hair and we shouldn't be worried about cutting it anymore. When you get the urge to cut it off and try something different, do it. Long-haired girls all go through these same stages, but in the end, it's worth it.

1. You start to not love your long hair as much as you once did.

What you once loved about your long, cascading waves now annoys the hell out of you.

2. So you figure you need a change.

3. You Google badass women with short hair for inspiration.

4. You decide to cut it, but the night before your appointment your hair looks amazing.

And it makes you second guess everything.

5. You have nightmares about the stylist cutting it too short.

What if she doesn't listen when I say not too short?

6. So you have to psych yourself up again.

7. When you get to the salon, you try to be as relaxed and carefree as possible.

It's just hair, right? Right?

8. But when the stylist grabs the scissors, you can't watch.

Bye, hair.

9. Halfway through the haircut, you start to like where it's going.

10. At the end of the haircut, you feel like a completely different person.

11. At first you're just not sure about it.

You don't quite look like yourself so you're just trying to not break down in the stylist's chair.

12. Then you start to warm up to it.

Sometimes you just need to go home and style it yourself to really see how great a haircut is.

13. Soon you're letting your true sass shine.

This short hair makes me feel so powerful!

14. And you swear you'll never go back!

But remember, hair always grows back if you ever want to!

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
