Stages Of A Breakup As Told By "Grey's Anatomy"

We've all been there — the sucky, tear-soaked aftermath of a breakup from a relationship you truly believed would never end. Now, this day and age isn't exactly the age of fairytale endings and Prince Charming's, but the breakups still hurt nonetheless. Luckily for us, none of us are alone in these breakups and believe it or not — it does get better. The stages of a breakup can vary for many, but here they are, as told by "Grey's Anatomy."

1. The first stage is the worst, when the breakup first happens and you can feel your heart breaking, so you just have to let it out.

2. Your parents will be there for you no matter what, with comforting words and a shoulder to cry on.

3. And your best friend will be there for you too, to have a sleepover with and let you cry it out and cuddle with her.

4. But once she's let you cry it out, your best friend is going to give you some wise advice

5. And then she is going to get your butt out of bed and do everything she can to make you feel better. Just dance it out.

6. She will have you so pumped up, you'll finally feel more confident and up to a girl's night out and you'll be surprised at how good you'll feel afterwards.

7. Now here comes the "I'm amazing and I don't need him" stage. Side effects may include: copious amounts of selfies and bomb-ass Instagrams, looking fabulous, ultra-confidence, flirting, and lots of dancing to empowering music. My ex, who?

8. And now you're free to flirt with that cutie who always catches your eye — trust me, there are plenty of fish in the sea (and they are extremely cute).

9. After a few weeks of exciting life in Single-ville, you may have a little relapse into sadness, when you're laying in bed and something reminds you of him.

10. You'll feel sad for a few days, and you'll want to text him, but don't. He's not worth it, and it's okay to be sad. You will be okay.

12. You'll learn that it's okay to be alone, and that you can be happy without him. Love yourself.

13. And when you least expect it, you'll meet your McDreamy, and you'll be glad it didn't work out with anyone else.

14. And trust me, you will be happy again.

So, if your heart is breaking or you're feeling down when it comes to romance, just hang in there. If Cristina Yang can get through being left at the alter and still meet her Owen afterwards, you can definitely get through this. Breakups are tough, but we all get through them and it will only make you a stronger person. You can be dark and twisty for now, but just keep in mind that sunny days are coming, and they'll bring your McDreamy with them.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
