April has just begun and finals are in about a month, though it seems as though this entire semester has gone by fast. Its seems like yesterday I turned in a midterm and was able to breathe again, but with finals around the corner, it is time to sit down and see what is at stake. We all go through a certain set of emotions leading up to finals - I'm sure you have experienced these at one point or another.

1. Don't worry, I got time.

That paper is not due until three more weeks, there is so much time.

2. Staying up late catching up on homework or doing last minute assignments.

3. But actually finishing all your homework and wondering what to do now?

4. Spending late nights watching movies and TV shows.

5. Giving some time to yourself.

5. Seeing that it is the weekend and thinking there is still time for relaxation.

6. Looking for any kind of distractions to keep you from responsibilities.

7. Slowly getting back into homework assignment.

8. But, then, looking at all the assignments that are due next week.

9. At this point, the barista is going to know your order by heart.

10. Realizing you forgot about that paper that you had three weeks to work on.

11. CRUNCH TIME.

Do not let finals get to you; make sure to have a plan that can give you enough time to study for each exam and that will give you time for sleep, food, and yourself.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
