The 15 Stages Of A Graduating Senior, Developing Senioritis

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? I mean I went through four years of tough classes and serious self-searching (and crying). What I found overall was Senioritis sneaking up on me.

1. Excitement of the final year

This is it! The final year of crying myself to sleep over a paper!

2. Trying to take easy classes to make it out alive

If the professor does not have a 2.0 or less on Rate My Professor for level of difficulty, I don't want them.

3. Does attendance count for a grade?

WWHHHYYY? I have never understood this rule my whole four years. If they don't want to come you cannot make them.

4. Skipping once won't hurt me

Once becomes twice, twice becomes 10 times, and then you forget that you even had the class.

5. Wait that is due?

Here is to doing the assignment right before turning it in.

6. I'm just trying to graduate

One semester down, just one more to go.

7. I'll just do this assignment during my other class

I can do my Biochem homework in my Immunology class and my Immunology homework in my Biochem class. IT IS FOOL PROOF.

8. Patiently waiting

It is just two more months.

9. Rejection

Oh boy, this is the period of rejection letters from grad schools, internships and even jobs!

10. Accepting that you might have gotten a degree for nothing

How long will it take for me to climb the ladder of a local fast food joint?

11. Probably should have studied for that test

I know I binge watched every season of Master Chief Junior, I just couldn't say no to their little faces!

12. Sanity > class

I thought I took easy professors! I didn't want to be stressed out.

13. Finally an acceptance letter

Look ma, I made it!

14. Oh yeah, finals

The only thing that could stop me in my path.

15. Graduating!

I did it! I survived four long years of blood, sweat, tears and lots and lots of money. I can finally enter the adult world!

All in all, graduating from college is a huge accomplishment. It is a bumpy road, but if it is what you really want, it will all be worth it in the end. Do not give up on your dreams because of one rejection letter or a single hard class. Just keep going and do not be too hard on yourself.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

The struggles of having an RBF are all too real

2. Those people who hand out flyers don't always try to stop you.

3. Creepy guys telling you to smile.

4. "I thought you were a bitch when I first met you."

5. People telling you you'd be "so much prettier if you smiled."

6. Doing your makeup and looking great, which somehow intensifies the bitch face.

7. Regularly explaining "it's just my face."

We all go through certain stages when we have a crush, Tina just explains it better.

That moment that someone you never looked twice at suddenly makes you do a double take out of no where.

But you can't have a crush, that's outrageous. It's all in your head.

Because you don't have a crush, there's no reason to tell anyone about anything. Right?

But then they do something irresistible and you start to lose it.

Now accepting the fact you have a crush, you have to keep it under control.

Then there's the part where you tell your friends who will claim they called it.

They'll be excited and cheer you on. That's until they realize that your crush is all you'll be talking about.

Your obsession has become so bad, that your Facebook stalking is getting out of control.

But your friends will try and help move things along any way they can. That doesn't mean it will be any helpful though.

As time goes on, you start having fantasies about the two of you and it's starting to scare you a little.

You can't focus on anything because all your attention is on them and everything they do.

Anybody who comes near your crush is now an enemy, and you are willing to fight for your crush.

When you see them, you act like an idiot. Trying to hide your feelings may not be as discrete as you think.

Keeping your feelings inside will start to be harder and harder until you can't keep it inside anymore.

Who knows, maybe it will work out? Take a chance.

Everybody hurts sometimes.
