Mornings can be rough. Whether it is the beginning or end of the week, waking up is just as hard. The only way to get through is by grabbing a coffee from the one and only Dunkin' Donuts.

1. Getting ready

You set your alarm an extra 15 minutes early (or maybe just skip brushing your teeth) to make sure you have time to get to Dunkin'.

2. Driving up

That beautiful pink and orange building you are all too familiar with. Maybe you cut someone off to turn in just a second earlier, or maybe you avoid traffic laws altogether. The need for coffee is real.

3. Waiting in the drive through line

You’re still half asleep and playing the "inch up" game, giving the car in front of you the stink eye when they don't move forward ASAP.

4. Placing your order

You’ve made it to the stand and finally you hear the voice: “Welcome to Dunkin Donuts, what can I get for you?” Lucky for them, you know exactly what they can get for you because you’re a Dunkin’ addict and coffee is the drug of your choice. (By the way: medium iced caramel swirl with milk.)

5. Waiting in the second leg of the line

Your music volume is up, your driver window readily down with your $3.17 counted out in your hand.

6. The exchange

You roll up with your money ready and give the employee a quick nod because you’re no amateur and words aren’t necessary. They reach out their hand and finally you grasp your coffee and hold onto it like it is baby Simba himself.

Almost like when Leo was handed his Oscar.

7. The pressure to drive away

The line behind you has only gotten longer and you know these people are feisty to get their coffee too.

8. Your first sip

Your orange straw is unwrapped before you even let your foot off the break. Your wrist swirls the coffee around and the sound of ice rattles. Bliss. That's kind of like this...

And this...

And definitely this.

9. The 15 minutes your coffee actually lasts

Even if you ordered a large, it doesn't last as long as you'd hoped.

10. Finishing your coffee

Aka depression.

11. Until your next Dunkin’ run, of course...

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
