The 21 Stages Of Decorating Your Graduation Cap

It's that time of year. Graduation is quickly approaching and for all the graduates out there, it's time for one of the biggest decisions. Time to decide how you're gonna decorate your graduation cap. When you finally get it, you get completely overwhelmed with ideas, and realize that you are might not be the best at crafting...but that's okay it's the effort that counts, right?

1. I've officially got my cap and gown! Is this real?

via Reddit

2. Crap...this means I'm going to have to decorate it soon...I need to seriously think about this now...

I've dreamed about it, but not seriously...How does one even begin to go about designing their cap? Are there any classes offered on how to do this?

3. Lemme sketch out a few designs.

Yeah, that looks good, right?

4. This is harder than it looks.

Spongebob made this look so easy.

5. I think this looks okay...or does it?

6. Crap lemme get a second opinion.

7. Okay, I think I like this. Time to put it on the mortar board.

8. What if I mess up...can I fix it? Do they sell any extra caps?

via Imgur

Those puffy paints are no joke. No undo button if you mess it up.

9. I'm gonna practice on a piece of paper first.

Good idea. Never try to go for it on the first try.

10. Oh thank goodness I practiced. That would've gone really badly.

via JoyReactor

Paint. Everywhere.

11. Alright I've been practicing for awhile...I'm gonna try it for real this time.

12. Deep breath...go.

via Teen

13. Hey, this isn't that bad.

via Tumblr

14. Oh gosh my hand won't stop shaking.

15. Crap that letter looks weird...I'm gonna try and fix it. Should I touch it, or not?

via Tumblr

16. I'm not gonna touch it.

Pro tip: Do not touch it. You'll only make it worse.

17. Okay, I'm just gonna keep going...

via Giphy

18. I really wish my hand would stop shaking...

19. I hope people can't tell my hand was shaking when this is all done.

20. I got through one word!

via ReactionGifs

21. Time to do the next 15.

via Faze

And let the cycle begin all over again.

Through all the stress of decorating your cap, it becomes a work of art that you are proud of. You can't wait to show it off on graduation day, and brag to all your friends about how artsy you are. I mean, look at that cap - no one can deny it, right?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
