The Stages Of Being Home From College (In GIFs)
Open House MD

Being a college student, and coming home for the summer can be a huge adjustment for parents and students. You go from having absolute freedom for the past seven or more months to that awkward stage of wondering whether you need to ask to go out or if you can just leave...? Or getting used to them telling you to do chores again. It also comes along with the endless struggle of unpacking your stuff. You never realize how much stuff you have until you have to pack it all up and shove it in a car! You may also be the first one home from school out of your friends, so that comes with complete boredom. Add in the fact that you now have to cook your own food instead of eating in the school dining hall and now having to do dishes, and your college life as you know it has been flipped upside down. Here are some common struggles that come with this adjustment, as told through my favorite medium... GIFs.

1. Unpacking

2. Cooking food

3. Finding things to do

4. Starting a new job

5. Doing chores

6. Asking to go out

7. Hanging out with friends and family

8. Pack it all up and do it again!

Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
