Fairfield University

As the weather gets warmer (we hope), it's time to head outside and breathe in some fresh air and time to soak up the sun.

Even though most college students are still on campus as the weather gets warmer, there are plenty of things to do around campus and downtown to enjoy the spring fever.

1. Go for a walk or a run.

Call your friends and go for a walk around campus, or walk to the beach or downtown area. Take a walk up to Bellarmine and find the Zen Garden. It's actually pretty cool, and if you also walk to the edge of the hill, you can spot the famous Fairfield turkeys' home. There are actually 1,000 of them lurking down below.

2. Go downtown for lunch.

Go to Firehouse Deli and indulge in one of their amazing sandwiches. The Thanksgiving and Redgate have my heart forever. There's also a million other fantastic places to eat downtown. Better yet, order take out and bring it to the beach.

3. Go to the beach.

Organize a beach day with your friends. Pack some towels and hang out on the beach. It's so fun to get some schoolwork done at the beach or just hang around and relax.

4. Hang out in the Quad.

Nothing is better than on the first really nice day of spring when everyone is out on the quad. It's so fun to walk around and socialize. It's fun to hang around and get some work done outside as well.

5. Take a day trip to the city.

Go for shopping, maybe a Broadway show or even a fabulous Sunday brunch with your girls.

6. Go to Westport, New Canaan or Greenwich to shop.

Honestly, hands down best places to shop in the state of Connecticut. So many cute boutiques for you to shop in and stock up on some spring and summer clothes.

7. Have your family come up for the day.

Fairfield University’s campus is beautiful during the spring and it's so nice to have your family come up and take a walk around campus. It's also a great time to go downtown and go out to dinner. There's so many great restaurants, some of my favorites during this time of year are the ones with outdoor seating so that you can eat and enjoy the quaint town of Fairfield.

8. Go downtown to do homework.

A fun way to spend a Sunday with friends and a great way to catch up on some work. Downtown has some really cute coffee shops that are perfect to hang out in for the day. There are also places to sit outside downtown like at the gazebo or at the tables at the beach.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

From sea to shining sea, the United States was uniquely positioned for an incredible Aurora Borealis display on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024, going into Friday, Oct. 11.

It was the second time this year after an historic geomagnetic storm in May 2024. Those Northern Lights were visible in Europe and North America, just like this latest rendition.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
