IT'S FINALLY HERE! Spring term. It is everyone's favorite term because we all have our visions of beautiful sunny days. But then we remember that this is Oregon...which means weather as unpredictable as it gets.
Spring term in Oregon goes a little bit like this:
You wake up and look out your window. It's sunny and there isn't a cloud in the sky. You think to yourself, "Wow! What a beautiful day!" So you proceed to get dressed for this "beautiful day" in some shorts and a light sweater. You walk outside and get a rude awakening, It feels like its zero degrees out.
So then you go run back inside and grab a jacket, because yeah who wants to freeze on their walk to class? So you get to class and everything is fine. But then you walk outside after class and guess what? It's suddenly 70 degrees. From the start of your 8AM to the end of class, it became a nice day. So now you're sweating and all you want to do is:
Now that you've accepted your fate as being the sweaty person in class, the weather decides to take another turn: hail. Out of nowhere, all of the sudden the sky turns dark and the sun is gone. What's this falling from the sky? HAIL. All over. Time to run to class!
Throw in a little thunder and lightning, and you've pretty much had every form of weather minus a tornado occur in the span of 4 hours.
But once the day is done and the weather has run its course, Oregon never fails to wow everyone with a spectacular sunset.
So if you're spending your spring in Oregon, it's best to prepare with an umbrella, boots, shorts, tank tops, and sunglasses, all for one day.
