Well winter break is coming to an end and that means that the spring semester is starting. Last semester was somewhat easy, but required a lot of work and effort to be put in. After procrastinating until the last minute with a majority of my assignments, I can say that I will try my best to get ahead of the game come the spring semester! In addition to that, I also plan to study more in advance and make sure I know the material rather than cram it all in my brain a few days before the test. I am not shaming myself for any of the mistakes that I made in the fall semester, but looking back on them and knowing how to correct them for the spring semester, and that is exactly what you should do too.
The spring semester to me is a fresh, new start that has endless opportunities. As a college student, we should all see the spring semester as that too and know that we can fix our mistakes and work even harder to make sure that we achieve goals we have set for ourselves. There does not have to be an endless list of achievements or goals, there can simply be one or two that you really want to put your mind towards and work for. Just by setting goals or achievements can already make the spring semester better than the fall semester. In the fall semester, we aren't really sure of how that semester is going to go so we don't have standards to meet. Once we get through a semester, goals are easier to set and there will be expectations.
Even though there are positive things to the spring semester, there are also some negatives that come with the spring semester. One of the negatives that come with the spring semester would be finding the motivation to get back into the routine of having work and classes after a long winter break. Sure the spring semester is a fresh start, but many of us will probably have a rough time getting ourselves back into the routine of school. After having a few weeks off, this can be a huge challenge!
Along with getting back into a routine, the spring semester also comes with the struggle of trying to focus and stay on track even though we have spring break in the back of our minds! Spring break is what pushes us to keep going for the first two months or so of the new spring semester. Spring break is also what makes us struggle to want to do any work. As college students, we know that spring break is our "reward" for doing work and focusing up until that point of some more time off!
So even though spring break has both positive and negative things about it, push the negatives aside and focus on the good! This is a new semester, a new start, and a new chance for plenty of opportunities and a chance to fix whatever you wish went differently last semester!
