It is currently week three of the spring semester of 2019 and here's an update. My skin is clear and I'm happy, what's better than that? I'm also procrastinating less, finishing assignments early, and never running late to class. Hopefully, by the end of the semester, I'll be saying the exact same words. The key to staying on top of your game is organization and prioritization. Here are some things you should consider before going to bed: plan out the entire day, choose your outfit, and meal prep. This gives you time to not think about what to do or what to wear. That means less stress and fewer decisions to make. Casual cute is my go-to outfit choice. Comfortable, but also somewhat stylish. If I feel good, I work better. Next, I prep my meals the night before just in case I get lazy and start spending money when I shouldn't be. Meal prepping is simple because you don't have to cook or wait the day of and all you have to do is warm it up. I can't stress enough how these have helped me manage my time effectively and efficiently.
Finally, put down your phone. Reduce the amount of time you spend looking at that screen and scrolling down different social media platforms. You'll be amazed at how refreshing it is to actually talk and look at people. To actually get your work done and pay attention to the little things in life. I am guilty of grabbing my phone every couple of minutes, but I'm finding a balance between creating content on social media and actually living my life.
On a side note, I read a piece by James Clear that really opened my eyes. Shonda Rimes said, "You don't have to know. You just have to keep moving forward. You just have to keep doing something, seizing the next opportunity, staying open to trying something new. It doesn't have to fit your vision of the perfect job or the perfect life. Perfect is boring and dreams are not real. Just … do" Therefore, don't be afraid of the unknown. It's okay to feel lost and confused, but it's not okay to stop there. Continue to create.
